Madeira Desouza Portfolio: 2012 to 2015 go back to “Artworks” page If you take notice of the years in which images were released, you can discern the artist showing an increasing level of complexity and nuances in his artworks from one year to the next. From 2012, this image is called “Carrying Him Home” and it reinforces my creating male characters who are exclusively men of color. From 2013, this image is called “Alley Angel” and it firmly establishes my preference for creating images using themes that are far beyond traditional depictions of male characters in 3D digital art. “Combat Culture” from 2014 exemplifies my jumping deeper into darker themes for my creation of male characters. My fearlessness is evident in this image as I depict violence that men do as an integral part of masculinity. Also from 2014, “Fem or Macho” in a side-by-side contrast explores stereotypical gay male affectations popularized by mainstream media and hypermasculine traits that some gay men such as myself clearly prefer. In 2015 I released “Four Waiting, Five Finished” which unforgettably represents the male death fetish combined with the theme of secret military executions. go back to “Artworks” page More Madeira Desouza Portfolios:
